Mobile (iOS)

Connect the iOS companion app to your desktop agent.

Overview

The Pocket Agent iOS app connects to your desktop agent, giving you the same brain, memory, and capabilities on your phone. Chat, view your daily logs, manage sessions, run workflows, and more — all synced with your desktop.

Setup

  1. Open Settings on the desktop app with ⌘ + ,
  2. Enable Mobile Connection
  3. Note your Instance ID — this is auto-generated and identifies your desktop agent
  4. Open the Pocket Agent iOS app
  5. Enter your Instance ID and the 6-digit pairing code shown on the desktop app
  6. Once paired, your phone receives a persistent auth token — you won't need to pair again

Note: The pairing code expires after 5 minutes. If it expires, a new one will be generated.

Connection Modes

Relay (Default)

Your desktop agent connects to a cloud relay server, and your phone connects to the same relay. This works from anywhere — you don't need to be on the same network.

Local (LAN)

For direct connections without a relay. Your phone and desktop must be on the same network.

To enable, set the Relay URL to local in settings. The desktop app will run a WebSocket server on port 7888 (configurable).

What You Can Do

  • Chat with your agent (text, images, and audio)
  • View and manage conversation sessions
  • Browse daily logs
  • View and manage memories
  • Run and manage workflows
  • Run and manage routines
  • Switch models
  • Receive push notifications (routine completions, alerts)

Multiple Devices

You can pair multiple iOS devices to the same desktop agent. Each device gets its own auth token and can connect simultaneously.

Troubleshooting

  • Can't connect in local mode? — Make sure both devices are on the same Wi-Fi network and that port 7888 isn't blocked by a firewall
  • Pairing code expired? — Codes last 5 minutes. Go back to desktop settings to get a fresh one
  • Connection drops frequently? — The app reconnects automatically. If issues persist, check your network stability or try switching between relay and local mode
